Recipe Tuesday ~ Hummus

Diane asked me last week if I had a good hummus recipe....and I do!  It's my mom's recipe actually.  She makes killer hummus.  So here you go:

Hummus

• 1 clove garlic
• 1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans, half the liquid reserved
• 4 tablespoons lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons tahini
• 1 clove garlic, chopped
• 1 teaspoon salt
• black pepper to taste
• dash of cumin

Put all ingredients into a food processor and blend until completely smooth.  If you want it thicker, drain more of the liquid off of the garbanzo beans, if you want it fluffier, keep more of the liquid.  Serve with pita chips or chopped veggies. 

For a different taste, you can substitute canned black beans as well, but don't eliminate the tahini paste, or it'll end up tasting just like refried beans and you don't want that (or maybe you do!).
