You know you've worn them. You might even have some in your closet, in your cedar chest, or in your basement. And I know you want to seem them. To quote one of our favorite Seinfeld episodes, "They're real, and they're spectacular!".
So with no further ado, I present to you, the bridesmaids:
From Amanda:
"What you can't see in this pic is the handful of bobby pins that Chris pulled out of my hair afterwards. It was our bridesmaids' gifts to get our hair done. Also note the jacquard jackets that we HAD to wear because the two other bridesmaids were older and had arm flab, and the sparkling grape juice in the lower left hand corner. It was the end of MAY! It was 80-85 degrees that day and our dresses were velvet."
Amanda, you were one hot babe. In more ways than one.
And yet another from Amanda:
"This is what my mother did to her bridesmaids. I figure since I'm the sole owner of the wedding pics from when my parents got married, what the heck! The year was 1979. Need I say more?"
No Amanda, I don't think you should! But thanks so much for letting us see some of your family classics! In 1979 I was a sophomore in high school and I remember all of the homecoming princesses wearing dresses like that.
And for those of you who were curious about Jan's feathered hair pieces, I present to you:
And yeah, the feathers might not have been that great, but Jan was just the cutest bride, so it's all good!
Here's one from Pam....who combines classic 80's hair with a classic Scarlet O'Hara hoop skirt. Doesn't her husband look like he played in an 80's band? They have matching hair. I LOVE it!
And finally, I present to you, spiral perm meets cut down to there, stretched out purple satin with a butt bow:

So, what do you think? Goodies to be given to the three of you who sent me your photos! Thanks for being a good sport!
I hope you had a good weekend!. We did, although I'm under the weather with a bad cold and cough. When I get a cold, I always get a terrible cough that ends up being bronchitis. I'm going to try to get to the doc later today so that I can get better before it gets worse. Then again maybe it's just watching the Bengals lose every week that's making me sick.
Hear those Bengals roar....at 0-6, that's a MEOW.
Tomorrow will be my 500th blog post, so in honor of the big number, I'll be doing a book giveaway on Wednesday (new yummy recipe tomorrow). Be sure to check back.

I hope my bridesmaids don't look back in twenty years and say "What was she THINKING?"
Or is it that they all look back and think that?

Good to see these photos. If I could only find my old ones they'd give you a good laugh. What we do for our family and friends when they get married is amazing!

Oh my, those pictures are hilarious!! These gals were good sports for participating. Hope you're feeling better soon. :)

My parents wedding pics look just the same, too funny. Looking forward to the recipe.

I am not laughing, I am not, lol.
This is so funny to see the fashion from the 80's. It looks so outdated today!

I about jumped because I would have swore that Jan's wedding photo was my brother's! His bridesmaids had the EXACT same dresses. No kidding.

I am so not putting my bridesmaid dress out there! I'm still laughing at these (one that I have looks like one of the dresses here) and I thought I looked GOOD!

Apologies to my Bride for correcting her, but the Bengals are actually 0-7!!!!!!!

btw, you actually look darned good in the butt-bow dress. I think you stole the show from the bride that time.

Thanks for noticing that I was an adorable bride ;-) (Actually, that was one of the better photos of me. In all the others, my face was unbearably shiny and my hair looked weird.) How 'bout those hats, though. Did I forget to mention that they had netting on the front? Yep. Classics.
In contrast to the feather-bedecked bridesmaids, the groomsmen were all wearing the tuxes with striped pants and morning jackets. Dennis, his three brothers, and our former BIL. And they all looked HOT! But I do have a photo of D in a powder blue, ruffle-fronted tux from his older sister's wedding. So if you ever decide to do a feature on groomsmen, just let me know!

I still can't find my purple/lace bridesmaid pictures from my friend's wedding. Sigh.
I hope you feel better, Barb. And 500 posts?? OMG! That's huge! Congrats!

Feel better soon Barb!!!

Hahahaha! These are all great! I can only imagine what my kids will say when they look at my wedding pics. At least we went to the courthouse, so I didn't torture any bride's maids LOL.
Hope you get to feeling better before you're feeling worse, Barb. It's the crazy weather. It was in the 80's last week and now we're barely getting to 60 for a high.
