It's August first already. That's right, August. School starts in 22 days and I've yet to use my King's Island season pass. Pathetic? Yeah, pretty much.
But anyhow, I survived the whirlwind month of July and now I'm back. I've got so much to say that I don't even know where to begin. I've also got so much to do that I don't know where to begin either. After not seeing my family for what was basically three straight weeks, they have to take top billing. I swear my kid has grown a few more inches. Since I've been gone, dh has also shaved quite a few strokes off of his golf game. Good for him! If I'm not going to be around, at least he's been making the most of the time to do what he loves most.
I have so much to talk about and so many photos to post. Unfortunately, I haven't had a second to edit any of my pics yet, so I promise that you'll get to see them eventually. Probably by then you'll be sick of CHA and CKU photos. They all start looking the same after a while. To tell you how behind I am, today I finally pulled shots off of my cameras from June and July....a total of over 400! Man, that's a lot of editing. Sigh.
I can't go any further without saying how meeting my friends Anna and Kelly at CHA was absolutely the highlight of not only CHA, but probably of the month, and is right up there for all of 2006 so far! I've known these fine people over the internet for a while. In fact, Anna and I can't even figure out how we got to be friends, but here we are and what a true pleasure it is. These women are the kind of women that I hope my daughter grows up to be. I am proud to be one of their friends and I hope that we stay pals for quite a long time. And Anna, WPAFB is SO close! Kelly, I'm praying for you every day and I'm going to be relying on you when those teen years hit me hard. By then you'll be laughing at all of this.
CHA was particularly great for meeting new people face to face that I hadn't met in the past and what a blast that was, especially my Hummer friends. I also met a bunch of new people who are fresh on the scrapbooking scene, and caught up with others like Heather who I just wish lived closer to me! Man, I met so many great people that I wish I had the bandwidth to list them all. The personal connections are by far the best part of these shows for me. And speaking of both teens and hot new scrapbookers, be on the lookout for that lovely young Miss Brittany Laakonnen, a sixteen year old CK HOF winner this year who will take the world by storm one of these days!
A day or two home and it was off to Atlanta for me and the IP crew for CKU-A. What a great bunch of women. I love good ole' Southern Hospitality! Kudos to all of the dorm contest people, they were fabulous, as were all of my students. I am humbled to have the opportunity to teach you all at CKU and I sure appreciate all of your enthusiasm and high energy. Pics coming soon from Hotlanta as well.
So now I'm home and playing catch up. Catch up on my life....family, non scrap related friends who I am totally convinced have completely given up on me, taekwondo (man I'm dying to work out again!), eating healthy again (back on South Beach as of yesterday and feeling good!), garden and yard, a few scrap assignments, and all sorts of things. One of these days I'm going to play I piano again...I haven't played since April and it makes me so sad. It's theraputic for me as well as relaxing and fun!
So that's it for now. I knew that I needed to update but I've been totally ovewhelmed since I got home on Sunday. Anna asked me in Chicago if I had played with my lensbaby yet and I had, but hadn't uploaded the pics yet. Here are a few....not great, but I'm still learning.
